Do you feel like you're missing part of the conversation?

No longer a fad or geeky trend, social media is here to stay and has become one of the best ways to engage and connect with the Myrtle Beach community on both personal and professional levels.

Perhaps you have tried using Twitter and Facebook but just don't "get it" yet.  We’re here to help. You’re invited to join us at our first Social Workshop where our featured speaker, Dorien Morin-van Dam from More in Media, will show you the ropes of engaging the online conversation and making sense of the two most popular social networks. TheDigitel Myrtle Beach staff will have presentations with how they use social media to find and tell local stories online. There will also be information on how businesses can get real value from participating in social networks. Finally, there will be a nice long Q&A session where there is no such thing as a dumb question.

The workshop will take place on Friday, October 28th from 9 a.m. to 12 p.m. in the Horry-Georgetown Tech Conference Center near The Market Common. It is entirely free and open to the public.  This is a hands-on educational opportunity that is wi-fi enabled and participants are encouraged to bring a laptop or tablet device. You may RSVP on Facebook.

Why are we doing this?
Because the more you know about social media, the more you can help us connect the Myrtle Beach community online and the more you will appreciate what we do.
