Update June 29: To the delight of many, Fresh Market is now open.
They will be having various Grand Opening events and give aways today. WMBF has a bit more information.
First Report: As more and more people become conscientious of what food they consume there becomes a greater demand for providing easy access to greater choices. Looking for organic, local or non-genetically altered fruits, veggies and meats may have become a tab bit easier here along the Grand Strand.
The grocery store chain, The Fresh Market, plans to open its fifth store in SC in the town of Pawleys Island. Located at 11405 Ocean Highway in Pawleys Island, the specialty grocer’s trademark atmosphere reminiscent of old-world European markets hopes to attract individuals looking for something a little different.
Craig Carlock, the company’s president and chief executive officer states:
“We are excited to open our store in Pawleys Island and to expand our reach in South Carolina. We look forward to introducing The Fresh Market’s concept of quality perishables, excellent customer service and a unique atmosphere to an expanded customer base, and we look forward to offering neighboring communities a rewarding new food shopping experience.”
The new Pawleys Island store will house over 23,000 square feet of culinary delights, including:
- 30 freshly baked breads
- 14 different varieties of pie
- Full service meat counter
- Ready-to-serve entrées
- Fresh seafood
- 200+ imported and domestic cheeses
- A bountiful produce department
- Large organic selection
Slated to open Wednesday, June 29 at 9 a.m. The Fresh Market grand opening activities will include outdoor grilling, chef demonstrations, and food sampling throughout the store. A reusable shopping bag and sample-sized bag of the company’s gourmet coffee will be free to the first 1,000 customers.
