Small Business Saturday at The Market Common.

First came Black Friday, then came Cyber Monday, and now, on November 24th, comes Small Business Saturday, a day to support the local businesses that create jobs, boost economies and preserve neighborhoods around the country.

Myrtle Beach is joining the Small Business Saturday movement by hosting activities at Market Common that will encourage the community to “shop small” on 11/24.

The Market Common is home to many small businesses including Grand 14 Cinema, CityMac Apple Specialist Store, Canipes Chocolates & Candies, Bijuju, Devo Olive Oil, random, Kangaroo Pouch Baby Boutique, Current 27, Lazy Gator, Xtreme Surf & Skateboard Co. and Rug Decor.

Mayor John Rhodes will Shop Small at several participating small businesses at The Market Common tomorrow. He will be joined by Eileen Kim, a Myrtle Beach Area Chamber of Commerce Board Member, and several local media outlets.  American Express representatives are setting up balloons and signage to celebrate the day.  Several lucky customers will receive tote bags with $25 American Express gift cards when shopping at small businesses at The Market Common on Small Business Saturday.

In support of Small Business Saturday, American Express is offering incentives to their customers to shop small businesses.  You can read all about it here.

Now in its third year, tens of millions of consumers around the country are expected to shop on Small Business Saturday this year.
