Cinco de Mayo events in MYR

Cinco de Mayo falls on a Saturday this year, giving us all the more reason to celebrate with margaritas, mariachi, and maracas.  The list of events is lengthy and there's something for everyone.

Burro Loco is holding their 15th annual BurroFest beginning at 11 a.m. and ending at 2 a.m.  Several bands are performing from 1 p.m. to 1 a.m. and there will be more food and beverages than anyone can handle.  Check out their Facebook event page, which includes several articles about the event and bands.

Nacho Hippo at the Market Common is also holding an event, beginning at 11:30 a.m.  Bands begin playing at noon and will perform until 11 p.m.  There will be food and drink specials, along with giveaways, throughout the day.  Have a look at their Facebook event page for more details.

Senor Frog at Broadway at the Beach is hosting a trio of bands, beginning at 1 p.m. and ending at 2 a.m.

ListenUpMB has an extensive list of events that include live music here, as well as a few non-cinco happenings.

Ever wonder what the holiday is all about?  The Sun News ran an AP article with history and regional differences in celebration.  Learn a little here.

Stay thirsty, my friends.
