Update, April 3: Word is they've sold out.

Original post: Come for the fun and the food during the art center's first-annual Spring Education Dinner Party on Friday, April 3, from 6 to 10 p.m. at Gage Hall.

Here's all the details from their Web site:

The evening will begin with enchanting workshop tables set up by Nathan Durfee, Geoff Cormier, and Redux. Nathan Durfee will be drawing caricatures of attendees, Geoff Cormier will be demonstrating how to make shadow puppets out of organic and found materials, and Redux is creating a large paint by numbers for everyone to participate with! Music for the evening will be provided by Lindsay Holler and friends.

After a year and a half, Jessie Bower, the Education and Outreach Coordinator at Redux, will be stepping down from her position, effective March 27th, 2009, in order to pursue other creative endeavors. This fundraiser event is Jessie's final contribution to the Education program. Bower hopes it will serve as a thank you to everyone in the community who has helped build this program from the ground up. All proceeds from the night will help Redux continue its mission founded on the education, presentation, and production of contemporary art.

Dinner will include amuse-bouche by Pane E Vino, a first course by Caviar and Bananas, followed by a main course from Lana and Normandy Farms, with the evening coming to a close with dessert from Gelateria Modica.

Tickets are $30, or $55 for couples. To register call (843) 722-0697 or drop by Redux.

Gage Hall is at 4 Archdale Street in downtown Charleston.
