Best-selling author Bret Lott signing new book Saturday


Bret Lott, College of CharlestonCollege of Charleston professor Brett Lott will sign copies of his new book Ancient Highway ($16.50, Amazon) on Saturday (July 19) from 1-3 p.m. at Blue Bicycle Books (map).

Random House said Lott's book "brilliantly weaves together the hopes and regrets of three characters from three generations as they reconcile who they are and who they might have been."

His short stories and essays have been widely anthologized, and have appeared in such journals as The Yale Review, Story, New York Times, Boston Globe, Antioch Review, Gettysburg Review, Chicago Tribune, Iowa Review and The Southern Review. His work also has been read on National Public Radio. Lott is a member of the National Council on the Arts.

Lott, a best-selling author, is an English professor at the College of Charleston. Among other books, Lott wrote Jewel and The Difference Between Women and Men.

Lott's tour runs through August 2. Charleston City Paper recently wrote about his return to the College of Charleston.
