An old fashioned “Block Party” is part of the fun this March at Mixson, a blossoming community that showcases sustainable living in the historic Park Circle district.

On March 9 from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m., the vibrant community will host music, food and family-friendly activities to celebrate all that Mixson has to offer while providing a peek of exciting things to come.

Free to the public, the “Block Party” will host street noshes from local food trucks Roti Rolls and Baja Burrito, sammies and artful noshes from Mixson Market, bluesy tunes by The Royal Tinfoil, face-painting for kids and adventurous adults, a photo booth housed in the back of an old VW van and a circus-style dunk tank for dunking the fine men and women of the local fire department. Amid the fun, guests can learn more about the upcoming openings at Mixson, including the savvy, Southern Mixson Bath & Racquet Club (MB&RC) and the Flats, a thoughtfully designed new collection of one- and two-bedroom residences, which are currently under construction.

“Our goal with Mixson has always been to build a sense of place that extends to the Park Circle and Charleston communities, and we welcome the public to celebrate with an afternoon of music and fun on March 9,” said Michael Phillips, COO of Jamestown, the real estate investment firm behind the development. “Mixson weaves a dynamic, mixed-use development into the existing fabric of the area, and we look forward to showcasing what is here and what is to come at this event.”

As always, the community’s fenced dog park and bocce courts will be available for use. Guests may also explore Mixson Market, which features gourmet sandwiches, cheese and charcuterie boards, artisanal grocery items, craft beer, fine wine and carefully curated retail items.
