British singer Garfield Mayor makes U.S. debut tonight

The mellow, gloomy, double-meaning, yet surprisingly quick paced music of British singer Garfield Mayor will come to the Windjammer on Thursday, October 23, as the British singer makes his U.S. debut. And there's more British to come, as Mayor is opening for David Ford.

Take And Take - Garfield Mayor

Go To Hell - David Ford

Both artists have good vocals, along with a darker more romantic, double-meaning undercurrent to their music. Each act would be good by itself, but paired together it could be quite interesting.

The Post and Courier has a good write-up about Garfield Mayor but it largely ignores Ford, luckily the Charleston City Paper has done exactly the opposite with its (shorter) piece.

He's playing 7:30 p.m. at the Windjammer at 1008 Ocean Boulevard on Isle of Palms. Tickets are $5.
