The Charleston International Film Festival invites you to the locally famous Terrace Theater for fun and a taste of independent cinema from April 23rd to 26th, 2009.

You can check out descriptions of all the films over here, or watch vide previews above.

Here is a bit about the Film Festival from their Web site:

Whether you want to experience independent features, shorts, documentaries or animations, all genres from some of the best seasoned and emerging filmmakers will screen. You will laugh with the comedies, feel the emotion in dramas, and definitely squirm during the horror films!

In 2008, over 40 films screened with most movie blocks selling out. The second year will showcase over 60 films from the U.S. and around the world…including South Carolina. Filmgoers will also have the rare opportunity to meet these filmmakers, directors, cinematographers and screenwriters during post-screening Q&A’s getting an exclusive inside look into the film and industry.

The festival is one of Charleston highlights, a fact that is more than proven when you take a glance at their "in the news" page.

Tickets are available online -- they run around $9 a piece, except for the awards gala which is $125. The Terrace is at 1956 Maybank Highway.
