Freshfields Village kicks off year's events with a free 'Art & Wine Walk'

The Art & Wine Walk at Freshfields Village is back for its sixth year, with a celebration that marries wine, art, music and more on Friday, February 18, from 4 until 7 p.m.

All are invited to the free event to watch live art demonstrations and view works from local and visiting artists in 11 stores. Participating stores will also feature two varieties of both red and white wines, as well as hors d’oeuvres. The Cobblestone Duo, a two-piece jazz group, will provide musical accompaniment for the evening.

Artists will display pieces in various media, including watercolors, oils, photography, hand-blown glass, sculpture and pottery. John Duncan, Charles Measter, Ron Chamberlain, Alice Pruitt and Gibbs Baum are confirmed as featured artists.

Freshfields Village has scheduled an array of festivals and events for 2011, including: Spring Kick-Off Festival, Starlight Cinema (outdoor movie viewing), Farmers Market, Barrier Island Wine & Beer Festival and numerous holiday activities, festivals and concerts. All events are free and open to the public, and most are family-friendly.
