This Friday, travel back to 1960's Baltimore and hang out with the nicest kids in town at the Charleston Stage production of 'Hairspray.'

The show is based on the cult John Waters film Hairspray and set in 1960’s racially divided Baltimore. Hairspray tells the story of “pleasantly plump” Tracy Turnblad, a girl with a big heart, big hair and an even bigger passion for dancing. When the Corny Collins Show announces a dance competition for America’s next teen dance star, Tracy jumps at the chance to achieve her dream. Tracy must break down barriers of race and class, win the affections of heart throb Link Larkin, and spend the night in jail. Featuring a rousing score that includes the musical hits “Good Morning Baltimore”, “You Can’t Stop the Beat”, and “The Nicest Kids in Town”, Hairspray will have the Historic Dock Street Theatre rocking and rollin’ like never before.

The show will run from September 3rd through September 19th. Ticket prices are as follows: adults $38-$52, seniors (60+) $36-$52 and students $22-$52. Call the box office at (843) 577-7183 or follow this link and get yours today.
