Local jazz orchestra opens season with the music of John Coltrane

Charleston Jazz Orchestra, Charleston’s own resident big band opens its 5th Anniversary Season with COLTRANE: The Music of John Coltrane at the band’s House of Swing, the Charleston Music Hall.
Resident director of Charleston's big band orchestra, Maestro Charleton Singleton, will pay homage to John Coltrane in the opening show of CJO's 2013 season. Singleton will be backed by musicians from the Charleston community, as well as special guest vocalist, Anthony Burke.
The event is scheduled for January 26 with two sets -- one at 7 p.m. and one at 10 p.m. -- with no intermission. Tickets are on sale now.
