'Taking Root' playing free at public library

Courtesy of the Coastal Conservation League the film, "Taking Root: The Vision of Wangari Maathai," will play for free at the Charleston County Public Library on Thrusday March 26 at 6:30 p.m.

Here's a bit about the film from an e-mailed press:
Taking Root is an acclaimed documentary film that tells the dramatic story of Wangari Maathai - a woman whose simple act of planting trees grew into a nationwide movement to safeguard the environment, protect human rights and defend democracy.

Make sure to stick around after the screening, because distinguished CCL staffer Jane Lareau will discuss the film from behind the scenes.

The library is located at 68 Calhoun Street.
