The Lowcountry's newest brewery, Holy City Brewing, opens to the public on Saturday, September 17th at 3 p.m.  Local food truck folks are clearly excited, because their next Food Truck Rodeo will be held on-site from 3 p.m. to 9 p.m.

The four founders of Holy City (Chris Brown, Joel Carl, Mac Minaudo, and Sean Nemitz) will be pouring their two year-round beers, Holy City Pilsner (5% ABV, B) and Pluff Mud Porter (C+, 5.5% ABV) into shiny new growlers (or any you may have in tow).  Also on tap will be their latest concoction, Lowcountry Dark Ale, a 6.2% ABV hoppy black beast that fits most snugly in the ever-contentious India Black Ale/Black IPA category.  New empty growlers are $5, fills are TBD, and there will be merch to purchase too -- all cash-only.  That said, 3 cans of food to donate to the Lowcountry Food Bank will get you a free koozie.

The Food Truck Federation will be represented in its full, nine-truck glory, with menus built around a local theme ingredient: peas, "in an effort to highlight World Peas Day."  The folks from Remedy Market will be on hand outside to pour 8oz servings of Holy City's beers for $3 a pop for consumption purposes (no samples are pouring from inside the brewery just yet).  There is live music (TBA) in store as well.

Holy City Brewing is located at 4155-C Dorchester Road in North Charleston, behind Champion Honda.
