What happens when you merge a term coined for religious festivals with a word for beer?

I figure a big red flag in your book for the afterlife or one heck of tasty beer festival. Either way we'll know for sure come Saturday, February 27, at noon when COAST Brewing Co. and The Charleston Beer Exchange present their Charleston Brewvival: Charleston's Craft Beer Festival.

The two groups are thrilled to finally have the long-envisioned festival become a reality. In an e-mail Jaime Tenny of Coast said, "We're aiming to bring a premiere beer festival that has all of our favorite things. Craft beer, music, the outdoors and good folks. Each brewery is sending their best, rarest, vintage, tastiest, special beers. Local music by a few of our friends (announced soon). Greg Koch, founder of Stone Brewing Co in San Diego will be our key note speaker (a pretty big deal if your into beer)."

In all 30 breweries will be attending and they're promising multiple food vendors -- and given some of the tasty vendors out of North Charleston, that should be pretty swell, too.

They're still working out the beer and music line-up but Tenny assures "it will absolutely not disappoint."

The festival will be up near of Coast's brewery in North Charleston (1250 2nd North St.) on the fields across from the brewery, under a big white tent.

Tickets are $50 in advance (buy them at Coast or the Beer Exchange) or $60 at the gate.
