In what has become a biannual shindig, Smoky Oak Taproom is holding their third Beer-B-Que bash on Saturday afternoon, May 7, from 2 to 10.

All the Bashes have had a few things in common: pay-per-sample beer tasting, live music, deals on food, and the most fun one can hope to have in a James Island parking lot.  The music this year will come from Reid Stone and Mac Leaphart (2 p.m. to 5 p.m.), Rawberry Jam (6 p.m. to 9 p.m.), and A Fragile Tomorrow takes over at 10 p.m. when the Bash officially ends.  Nom on barbecue grilled corn, barbecue chicken, burgers, ribs, and pizza slices from guest star, Paisano's.

Admission is free as long as you bring in a canned good, which will go to stock the kitchen at Crisis Ministries.  Six-ounce samples will run you $2.50, with a price break at 5 samples for $10. Per the full page ad in this week's West Of, you'll have your way with 40+ beers from 20+ breweries.  Highlights include Dogfish Head's new Hellhound On My Ale (10% ABV, B+, 88), Bear Republic Ryevalry (8.2% ABV, A-96) and a cask of Ballast Point's penultimate IPA, Sculpin (7% ABV, A, 100).

Smoky Oak Taproom is located at 1234 Camp Road on James Island.  Call them at (843) 762-6268 for more details.
