On Saturday, April 30th, the Children’s Museum of the Lowcountry (CML) along with SunTrust Bank and News 2 WCBD will host the seventh annual Fam Jam from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. on the downtown campus of the Museum with a day of family fun including live music, entertainment, games, activities, good food and more!

Fam Jam celebrates the power of the play as the Museum’s campus becomes a giant playground to empower children and their families that being active is fun. Families have the opportunity to take part in a series of fun-filled, outdoor activities from obstacle courses to angling big fish and learning karate to hula hooping like a pro.  Children are also encouraged to eat healthy through the Build-A-Better Sub Competition sponsored by Subway’s Fresh Fit Program!  Other foods will be offered by Chick-fil-A of James Island, Whole Foods, Healthy Home Foods and Macaroon Boutique.

Challenge stations will be hosted by the Museum’s tri-county community partners including the Charleston County Parks and Recreation, City of Charleston Recreation Department, Dr. Randy Pediatric Dentistry, Heather’s Hoops, Japan Karate Institute, Jump Bunch, Lowcountry Local First, South Carolina Aquarium, South Carolina Department of Natural Resources, South Carolina Stingrays and more!  Guests are encouraged to ride their bikes to the event to receive $2 off admission.

CML Executive Director, Denis Chirles, says, “Wear your sneakers and come ready to play! Only Fam Jam makes physical activity fun for the whole family!”

Fam Jam’s live entertainment includes performances by Charleston’s always-entertaining Electric Company, the College of Charleston Cougarettes, a demonstration by students from the Japan Karate Institute and a game of “Charlie Says” with Charlie the Riverdog.
Tickets are $10/person in advance and includes admission to the festival, all entertainment AND admission to the Museum.

Tickets may be purchased at the Museum, online at www.explorecml.org or by calling (843) 853-8962, ext 223. Tickets purchased at the door on the day of the event will be $12.
