There's a new kid in Charleston's music scene: Fowler's Mustache

What's up with Charleston's obsession with mustaches

There's a new band on the Charleston scene, and it's named in remembrance of a local weatherman's famous mustache. The name? "Fowler's Mustache."

Preview has a nice interview with the new group; check it out over here.

You can get a listen to their sound on the group's MySpace page or listen to them live on Saturday, December 26, at 9 p.m. at A Dough Re Mi in Mount Pleasant.

Speaking with the authority I now have after listening to one song, the group's acoustics and style remind me a bit of "death country" band Elliot Brood. Of course they, too, are far from well known.
