Charleston weekend roundup: It's sunny and there's more than a few things to do

Image by Flickr user PalmettoMax The weather's great, so get outside.

First, let's cover the forecast: Sunny, highs in the low 80s, lows in the mid 50s. Yes, that means you have to go out and do something.

Lucky for you, there's lots of free fun to be had.

Tonight, Friday April 2nd, the weekend gets going with a bunch of free art to see at the First Friday Fridays series.

On Saturday the day kicks off with the return of the farmers market in Marion Square and a 30,000-count egg drop in West Ashley. If you go to the farmers market consider journeying down to the Battery area for the annual Hat Ladies parade. And think about sticking around downtown as about mid-day there will be the Charleston portion of International Pillow Fight Day at Marion Square.

Finally the day winds down with a Charleston Battery pre-season match. If you'd rather do something more art-related, The Charleston City Paper has a few tips in their weekend roundup.

On Sunday things are more low-key for the holiday, but brunches abound and it's looking like a pretty good beach day to me.
