Have some fun and escape the Bridge Run madness at the Edgewater Bridge Run

Sure, there's that doughnut run coming up, but it's not until April. So how can you stick it to the serious runners during the big Cooper River Bridge Run day this Saturday, March 27?

Three words: Edgewater Bridge Run.

Yep, the zaniness for a good cause is back again this year. At 3 p.m. the 1/10th of a mile run kicks off in West Ashley and the $15 registration ($20 at the start line) gets you "a t-shirt, live music, food, and beer."

And before you go mocking the event, know that it's for a cause: The registration fee goes to Pet Helpers, who's working to end the euthanasia of all adoptable cats and dogs in the Lowcountry.

The event is at and hosted by Famous Joe’s of West Ashley at 1662 Savannah Highway.
