With this weekend's great weather you might be up for a last-second trip up to to Front Street in Georgetown and checking out some finely crafted wooden vessels.

The big attraction is the Wooden Boat Challenge at 12 p.m. where two-man teams compete to build a rowing skiff within 4 hours. At the end of the day, the teams will test their handiwork in the Sampit River. In addition to the competition, there will be local vendors, boats on display, and live music.

The entire show takes place on the Historic Waterfront of Georgetown today, October 15th, from 11a.m. to 6 p.m. There is no charge to attend the event.
