Freshfields Village will welcome the start of spring on Saturday, March 19th at the Spring Kickoff Festival. 

From noon until 4 p.m., guests can take part in a variety of nature-based activities, check out marine vendors, enjoy live music and interactive activities for the whole family.

Kiawah Island Golf Resort Nature Program will host a reptile show and cast net contest for kids of all ages. Plus, guests can take part in paddleboard demos, fishing clinics and kayaking tours. Children will love the rock climbing wall, jump castle, inflatable soccer game and facepainter. If you enjoy hitting the waterways, Barrier Island Marine, Hanckel Marine, Longshore Boats and Sea Ray of Charleston will have their new products for 2011 on display. Sea Tow of Charleston, South Carolina DNR and the U.S. Coast Guard will have booths filled with information and activities too.

Bring your appetite because food and beverage vendors will be available. The Chris Crosby Group will also be performing music on the Village Green throughout the afternoon.

Proceeds from the Spring Kickoff will benefit Dragon Boat Charleston, a local non-profit promoting physical and mental wellness among cancer survivors and their community through dragon boating.
