Hootie & The Blowfish, Toad the Wet Sprocket playing Charleston for two nights

Marking the ninth anniversary of annual benefit concert, Homegrown, in their Charleston hometown, Hootie & The Blowfish are doing their only public appearances of 2011 on Friday, August 12, and Saturday.

On Saturday, August 13, they will once again partner with the Charleston County School District for the fifth annual "Hootie’s Homegrown Roundup: Back to School Basics," a back to school program providing children with school supplies and other services necessary to be well-prepared to start the school year.

The event will take place from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. at Burke High School, located at 244 President Street.

Toad The Wet Sprocket has been named the opener on August 12 with additional performers being announced in the weeks to come. 

Weekend packages will start at $47.50 and single nights at $27.50 and are available through ticketmaster.com and familycirclecup.com/concerts or by calling the Family Circle Tennis Center Box Office at (843) 856-7900. 

Ticket sales will begin Wednesday, June 22, with priority ticketing being offered to Hootie Fan Community as well as Darius Rucker Fan Club. 

Schedule: 

- Friday, August 12th: Family Circle Stadium - Gates open at 6 pm; Show starts at 7 pm
- Saturday, August 13th:  Grand Lawn Festival: Gates open at 1 pm; Acts begin at 1:30 pm (must have a Saturday ticket to enter) Family Circle Stadium: Gates open at 6 pm; Hootie and the Blowfish Show starts at 7 pm. *Fans can leave between 2 pm - 5:30 pm but will not be allowed back in the gates until 6 pm for the evening show.
