Mellow Mushroom Charleston partners with Virginia Tech Alumni Association for a trifecta of events

In memorandum of tragic events in 2007, the Charleston Chapter of The Virginia Tech Alumni Associationis hosting a trifecta of events: A “Virginia on the Veranda” happy hour on April 12th, a 3.2K memorial run on April 16th and game watching parties of the VA Tech Spring Training Game on April 21st.

The VA Tech Alumni Association’s initial event on Thursday, April 12th, “Virginia on the Veranda,” aims to unite alumni from VA Tech as well as from all other Virginia colleges and universities on Mellow Mushroom’s rooftop patio. Alumni are encouraged to dress in school spirit. The event will feature Happy Hour pricing from 6 p.m. until 8 p.m. for all who attend. The 3.2 mile memorial run on Monday, April 16th pays homage to the 32 lives lost in the 2007 VA Tech shooting. The run begins at Marion Square at 6 p.m. and will span most of the lower east side of downtown Charleston. The after party begins immediately after the run at Mellow Mushroom King Street and will feature food and drink specials for participants and guests. Participants wanting to run should be at Marion Square by 5:30 p.m. to register.

The final event in the series is the VA Tech Spring Training Game viewing parties at The Brick and Mellow Mushroom King Street on Saturday, April 21st. The game will start at 4 p.m. with both restaurants providing VA Tech alumni and guests with top notch food and drink specials throughout the evening.

All three events are free to attend and open to alumni, friends, family, and supporters of the 2007 VA Tech memorandum.
