Shinefest music festival rocking the peninsula in October

Get ready for a day long music festival that'll be rocking The Joe Riley Stadium on October 17.

Read more stories on this subject in our music topic page.Shinfest 2009 will feature Blues Traveler, The Original Wailers, Blue Dogs, Sol Driven Train, Sipe-Coffin Group, Dangermuffin, Gaslight Street, and Number One Contender. In addition to great music from noon to 9 p.m. there will be the Sol Driven Train kids' concert, Children's Universe hosted by Creative Spark, a community village of local non-profit organizations, food and drink.

Advance tickets are on sale now for $40. Tickets will also be sold at the gate day-of for $45. Student discount tickets are offered at $35
