Volunteers needed for Fam Jam event

Children's Museum invites members of the community to volunteer at 8th Annual Fam Jam event in Marion Square.

The Children’s Museum of the Lowcountry’s Fam Jam event is just five weeks away and as preparation gets underway CML is calling for volunteers to help.

Volunteers are needed to assist with this year’s Fam Jam Festival on Saturday, April 21, at Marion Square before, during and after the event.  The event will run from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.

Volunteer opportunities range from helping to set up the event; face painting; monitoring jump castles; catering to the event’s musical talent and emcees; breaking down the event and even trash clean up.  In return, volunteers will feel good about giving back to the community as well as enjoying the event festivities, live music and the City of Charleston Farmer’s Market.

Volunteers of all ages are welcome. The Museum will brief volunteers during scheduled meetings and will run background checks prior to the event. Anyone interested should please contact Meg Watson, Marketing Manager, at meg@explorecml.org

With a theme of homegrown family fun with no sugar added, the Museum’s 8th Annual Fam Jam festival celebrates the power of play as Marion Square becomes a giant playground to empower children and their families that being active is fun!  Families have the opportunity to take part in a series of fun-filled, outdoor activities and fitness demonstrations.  Admission is free.  For more information, visit the Museum’s website at www.explorecml.org
