Read more stories on this subject in our American College of the Building Arts topic page.Ceremony will begin at 10 a.m. in Washington Park, adjacent to City Hall.

The College was founded to address the decline in skilled building craftsmen in this country. Students are given the skills to make strong and positive impacts in green building and preservation.

The American College of the Building Arts is the first and only licenses four-year liberal arts college in America to offer a bachelor's degree in the building arts.

The graduation of the college's first class is particularly significant given the schools financial issues.
