Local chefs and farmers jump on board for the 3rd Annual Chef's Potluck

In an effort to raise awareness about the important role local agriculture plays in sustaining our community and livelihood, Lowcountry Local First is hosting the 3rd Annual Chef’s Potluck on Sunday, May 2nd.

The festivities will take place from 4 until 7 p.m. at the Pavilion at Middleton Place. Top chefs from area restaurants will be preparing dishes using local produce, meats and seafood provided by Lowcountry growers and producers.

Participating restaurants include Blossom, Closed for Business, Cru Cafe, Cypress, Duvall catering and events, Fish, Glass Onion, Middleton Place, and Slightly North of Broad to name a few. The evening will also be featuring live music by Elise Testone, local beer from COAST, wine from Grassroots Wine Distributor, ice cream from Wholly Cow, handmade chocolates from SweetTeeth, coffee from Island Coffee as well as a silent auction of wares from local businesses and a farmer’s market tent.

Tickets for the event are limited and are $45 for LLF members and $50 for non-members, and are available online, at the Glass Onion in West Ashley and Charleston Cooks!, on East Bay Street. Proceeds will support Lowcountry Local First’s Sustainable Agriculture Initiative, which just launched the Growing New Farmers Incubator Program to train the next generation of growers and local food leaders.
