The Glass Onion will be contributing to Cask Ale Saturday at the Charleston Beer Exchange this Saturday, October 9, from 1:30 to 3 p.m., as a promotion for the upcoming Sustainable Seafood Dinner with Coast Brewery.

The Charleston Beer Exchange tap their cask of Smuttynose Big A IPA at 2 p.m., and the Glass Onion will be offering up hors d’oeuvres and a raffle.

The Glass Onion, 1219 Savannah Highway, is pleased to team up with their friends at the Charleston Beer Exchange, 14 Exchange Street, for this special event paving the way for their upcoming beer-centric tasting dinner.

The Glass Onion will showcase local, sustainable seafood paired with the brewing skills of Dave Merritt from Coast Brewery on Tuesday, October 12, at 7 p.m. Tickets to the dinner cost $55 for the four course menu and beer pairing. At the Charleston Beer Exchange cask tapping this Saturday, the Glass Onion will raffle a ticket to the dinner and a growler of Coast HopArt IPA.

Part of the proceeds from the dinner will go to the Sustainable Seafood Initiative, a conservation program of the South Carolina Aquarium that teaches chefs how to make good environmental choices in seafood. Guests at the dinner can expect talks between courses by local fishermen, Aquarium staff and time with the brewmaster.

The dinner will feature a bounty from the Lowcountry’s waters, such as grouper, shrimp and possibly oysters. The full menu can be found at www.ilovetheglassonion.com. The restaurant will close for lunch at 5 p.m. that day to prepare for dinner, which will begin at 7 p.m.
Reservations are necessary, as there is only one seating, and can be made by calling the Glass Onion at (843) 225-1717.
