Charleston's newest farmers market, the Sea Island Regional Farmers Market, opens today, Friday, May 8 and will also be open on Saturday.

The Gullah-centric market's regular schedule will be Fridays and Saturdays.

The market is at 4246 Savannah Highway past West Ashley near Ravenel.

Update May 8: Swung past the new market today, hours are 2 to 7 p.m. on Fridays, and 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. on Saturdays.
