Charleston's growing and sustained burger obsession comes with a little baggage, namely the never-ending battle for beefy supremacy.  On Saturday, November 12th, the Burger and Beer Challenge aims to settle the score, and help fight autism in the process.

Held at Funky Little Kitchen, a fairly new eatery off of Highway 17 in Awendaw, and co-sponsored by Eat This! Charleston, the event will be an all-day affair with plenty to keep you occupied.  The burgers will of course take center stage, with entries from a host of restaurants including Coleman Public House, Finz Bar & Grill, 17 North, Sesame Burgers and Beer, and Eurasia.

The beer will be exclusively local, with all four of our breweries represented.  Palmetto, COAST, Westbrook and Holy CIty will be pouring yet-undisclosed tastings of their wares.

The "challenge" officially runs from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m., but the event will continue until 8 p.m. thanks to the hefty live music lineup, which will be split between two stages:

The Burger and Beer Challenge runs from 11 a.m. to 8 p.m. on Saturday November 12th at Funky Little Kitchen, located at 5105 Highway 17 North in Awendaw.  Tickets are $20 day-of, but keep an eye out for a Groupon early this week.  Call the venue at (843) 928-4444 for further details, and come help fight autism!
