Caviar and Bananas hosting first ever wine dinner

On Wednesday, November 17th at 6:30 p.m., Charleston’s favorite gourmet market and café will hosts its first ever wine dinner in celebration of the fall season and to showcase Todd Mazurek’s accomplishments as Executive Chef.

Caviar & Bananas will convert itself for this special evening into a restaurant setting complete with table linens, candles, flowers, and dim lighting and will be closed to the public. Guests will be greeted with sparkling wine as they enter and take their seats to prepare themselves for an evening to excite the senses. Chef Mazurek has planned a five course chef’s tasting menu inspired by local fall ingredients.

Dishes will include an “Amuse Trio” of  Foie Gras with  Fig and Toasted Cashew, American Sturgeon with Crème Fraiche and Micro Chive, Buffalo Carpaccio with Manchego and  E.V.O., A Hawaiian Pomfret “Monchong” with Spaghetti Squash Risotto, Chestnuts, Meyer Lemon Crema and Fresh Black Truffles, and a Roasted “Ashley Farms” Guinea Hen with Lamb Sausage-Lentil Cassoulet and Sour Cherry Reduction along with two other tantalizing courses. Wines will be expertly paired with each course by Leigh-Ann Beverly and the team at Advintage Fine Wine Distributors.

The event will be limited in attendance and reservations are required. The price for the event is $70 per person and includes the tasting menu as well as the wine pairings for each course. You may make reservations by calling Caviar & Bananas Executive Office at 843.577.9997.

Caviar & Bananas is located in Historic Charleston at 51 George Street
