CBX celebrates a local milestone with Rare Beer Tuesday

At 5 p.m . this Tuesday, the Charleston Beer Exchange gang will be putting HC-100 from Holy City Brewing on tap.

This beer is so-named because it's the 100th batch from Charleston's newest brewery. Holy City opened their doors in July of 2011, and have since churned out not only 100 batches but over 30 varieties of beer (by my count).

This puppy is a 10% ABV double IPA absolutely packed with hops - early additions, late additions, dry-hopping, and everything in between. In true celebratory fashion, 100 lbs of hops were used in this 100th batch, which comes out to roughly 7 lbs of hops per barrel. That, folks, is outrageous.

It's a very limited brew, so only one 32oz growler per person will be available starting at 5. Get there on time, or you'll leave sad.

Charleston Beer Exchange can be found at 14 Exchange Street downtown.
