Updates are at the bottom:

On Wednesday, February 6, Cypress will host the first Celebrity Chef Tour dinner held in Charleston, S.C.

The restaurant’s executive chef, Craig Deihl, will cook alongside:

  • Trevor Kunk of Blue Hill in New York, N.Y.
  • Tory McPhail of Commander's Palace in New Orleans, LA.
  • Andrea Reusing of Lantern in Chapel Hill, N.C., the 2011 James Beard award winner for Best Chef: Southeast
  • David Varley, Mina corporate executive chef

The Celebrity Chef Tour began in 2004 and brings the experience of dining at New York City’s historic James Beard House to diners and cities around the United States.

Beginning at 6:30 p.m., guests will enjoy an hour of passed hors d'oeuvres – unique to the various chefs – with wine and signature cocktails before sitting for dinner at 7:30 p.m. Likewise, each chef will prepare a course that will be paired with a wine selection from Cypress wine director Bill Netherland. At the conclusion of the meal, chefs will entertain questions and discuss their respective dishes and preparation.

Tickets are $160, inclusive of tax and gratuity, and sales begin on Friday, January 4. A portion of the proceeds will benefit the James Beard Foundation, and reservations can be made through the Celebrity Chef Tour website or by calling Cypress at (843) 937-4012, extension 229.

Update January 28: A limited number of tickets are still available for what is shaping up to be one of the most premier culinary events of the season.
