Come Wednesday, December 19, the highly anticipated Ordinary restaurant is due to be open on Upper King Street.

Being opened by Mike Lata and Adam Nemirow, from Charleston's legendary FIG, the new restaurant has revamped a former Bank of America building at 544 King Street — it was originally due to open by the beginning of September.

The Charleston City Paper's Stephanie Barna caught up with the duo and offers a preview of the spot.

Sounds like another great spot for Upper King.

As for the restaurant's name and mission, here's a bit of background on that:

Taking its name from an old term for a set menu, The Ordinary is their version of a classic oyster bar and seafood hall. It will feature an extensive raw bar, fresh fish, and a variety of small and large plates. The Ordinary is a celebration of fishermen of the Lowcountry and the matchless seafood of the East coast.
