If you've been on the fence about trying a CSA, local CSA farm Pinckney's Produce of Holly Hill, SC is offering last minute, pro-rated options for spring CSA shares.

Offering an 11-week, pro-rated purchase option for their spring shares, they also have four different size options, and nine drop site options in the Downtown, West Ashley, Mt. Pleasant, Daniel Island, and Summerville areas.  For the affordable price and convenience, it's a pretty good buy.

At $25 a week, their medium sized share is a great buy for two or three people, depending on your needs.  They also offer a smaller (1 to 2 people) sized share at $20 a week, as well as a large (3-4 people) for $35, and extra large (5 people or more) at $45 per week.

There are also one-time $13 delivery fees for drop sites within 35 miles of the farm, $26 fee for sites over 35 miles, and pick ups at the farm are free.

Pinckney's Produce is a family owned and operated CSA farm that serves areas from Columbia to Charleston.  Their produce is grown without herbicides, and they use organic insecticides, so you can get the organic quality and flavor without paying the high supermarket prices.

To sign up, you can email them at info@pinckneysproduce.com or give 'em a ring at (803)-492-3521 to get the pro-rated price.  Sign ups officially close at noon on Monday, May 2nd.

A few staff members here at TheDigitel have had some great experiences with membership of Pinckney's Produce, and the Charleston City Paper also has a good review of the program as well.

Be sure to check out their website for details, recipes, vegetable identifications, and more. You also follow them along on Facebook and Twitter.
