Schug Winery has long been a favorite label in the Charleston area. And Old Village Post House has always been a beloved place for wine tastings. So what better pairing of flavors than a special, five-course wine dinner matching the two?

On Monday, January 18th guests will start the evening with a courtyard reception and hors d’ oeuvres at 6:30 p.m., followed by dinner at 7 p.m. Winemaker Michael Cox will join Patrick Emerson, the restaurant’s renowned wine expert, to discuss the wine making process at Schug and provide tasting notes.

The menu will begin with a scrumptious Benton’s Pork Belly, followed by a Thai-inspired Barramundi dish and finally a succulent Duo of Grilled Lamb Chop and Garlic Sausage. To finish off the meal, guests will enjoy a Vanilla Bean Cheesecake with Oreo cookie crumb crust topped off with a cherry glaze.

Carneros-based Schug Winery combines old world understanding and tradition with modern winemaking techniques. Schug is best known for their Chardonnay and Pinot Noir, which will each be paired with a course, in addition to their other popular varietals, like Sauvignon Blanc, Cabernet Franc and their sparkling red, Rouge de Noirs Brut.

The cost is $58 plus tax and gratuity, and seating is limited. Please call 843-388-8935 or visit Old Village Post House website. Guests can retire after the dinner to one of the 6 charming rooms upstairs, which are priced at $99 for the evening.

The Old Village Post House is located at 101 Pitt Street in Mount Pleasant. For more information, visit Old Village Post House website or call 843-388-8935.
