Downtown Charleston's parks are almost due for their yearly maintenance and the Charleston Parks Conservancy as well as the Park Angels are looking for a little help.

On November 4th, volunteers are asked to meet on the Calhoun Street side of Marion Square by 8 a.m. Morning activities will include pruning the rectangular planting beds throughout Marion Square. In addition to beautifying the park, you'll learn about the park's history and horticulture.

On November 11th it is the Chapel Street Fountain Park's turn. Morning activities to include garden clean up activities in this entire park space. Volunteers are needed between 8 and 10 a.m.

If you plan on volunteering, you're asked to bring pruners, garden gloves, a weeder and a garden bucket.

Volunteers should e-mail Paul Wentz or call the Charleston Parks Conservancy office at (843) 724-5003.
