Swap your gas mower for and electric model at the Lawn Mower Exchange (volunteers needed)

Every year S.C. residents have a chance to trade a polluting gas-powered mower for a new cordless electric mower at a discounted price.

The 2012 4th Annual Tri-County Lawn Mower Exchange is on Saturday, March 24,  at Mt. Pleasant Memorial Waterfront Park — and they need volunteers to help staff the event.

Volunteer needs: 2 shifts of ~20 people each shift (1st shift from 8:30am-11:30; 2nd shift from 11:00am-2:00pm).

Types of Volunteering: Assist with parking, survey collection, unloading used lawn mowers or power yard tools from vehicles, removing oil/gas from used lawn mowers, loading new lawn mowers into vehicles, or various other assistance needed at the event.

Please come prepared to get a bit dirty.

What you get: Free t-shirt, food, and the opportunity to help protect air quality in the Lowcountry. Contact Richelle Tolton, toltonrd@dhec.sc.gov or (843) 953-0150.
