Mount Pleasant Land Conservancy hosting free nature hikes

The Mount Pleasant Land Conservancy is encouraging the community to get out and enjoy some trail time by hosting free guided nature hikes on the new Marsh View Trail every Saturday in April.

As part of the MPLC’s “Give, Get & Go” Challenge this spring, the non-profit land trust is working to raise awareness for the value of land preservation in this region by teaming up with several local naturalists who will share their knowledge and expertise on various topics, including: wildlife habitat, horticulture and bird watching.  Each Saturday the public is invited to explore another exciting feature found in this serene natural environment.

The next guided walk will be held this Saturday, April 10th at 9 a.m.  Jim Koenig, naturalist and marine science guru from King Fish Environmental will be there to help you discover more about this
exciting new trail and the educational components of shared green spaces like this.

Details for the upcoming guided hikes on April 17th and 24th will be available at www.mountpland.org or by calling (843) 884-1060.

The hikes last approximately 45 minutes and take place come rain or shine. Participants will meet at the trail head located off of Fred McKay Way between the Mount Pleasant Waterworks Operations Center and the Joe Gawrych Baseball Complex at 1619 Rifle Range Road in Mount Pleasant.
