New Face2Face of Myrtle Beach group supports women through pregnancy/infant loss grief

Face2Face of Myrtle Beach will hold its first meeting this Saturday.  It is a support group is for women who have suffered a miscarriage, stillbirth, or infant loss.

Heather Moore, founder of the group, suffered a loss and wants to reach out to other women who may be looking for support as they cope with their grief.  Sadly, the statistics are staggering.  According to this article on BabyCenter.com, 10 to 20% of pregnancies end in miscarriage.  The March of Dimes reports that 1 in 160 pregnancies result in a stillbirth.  It's likely we all know someone who has experienced this type of pain

The group is the second of its kind in South Carolina, with the only other chapter being in Mount Pleasant.  Both groups are part of the Faces of Loss project, a site aimed at supporting women as they deal with pregnancy and infant loss, as well as increasing awareness.

Face2Face of Myrtle Beach's first meeting is scheduled for Saturday, June 23, 2012, 2:30 p.m. at the coffee house inside Books-a-Million at Coastal Grand Mall.  You can see their Facebook event page for this meeting here.   For more information, to connect with Heather, and keep up with the latest from the group, head on over to their Facebook page.
