Jim DeMint coming down for 'Town Hall' meeting; Health care on the menu

Update August 17: Coverage is in of the meeting. Go get it.

First reporting:

While technically it's a neighborhood association meeting with health care as just one of the topics, I won't be surprised if this one gets hijacked with the topic du jour.

U.S. Senator Jim DeMint [that's the guy who said health care could be Obama's Waterloo] will be speaking at the Daniel Island Neighborhood Association meeting on Monday, August 17, from 7:30 to 9 a.m. There's a fee of $12.50 to attend, and space will be limited. Breakfast will be served.

Hopefully it's a healthy breakfast -- it kinda defeats the point to debate health care while scarfing down your second plate of bacon and hasbrowns.

My Island News has the details on the event and how to RSVP.

But as The Post and Courier's Brian Hicks points out, South Carolina will chalk up a win if we can just keep this off the daily show.
