Update November 7, 2012: The effort is underway again this year and your donations are requested.

You can drop off your new or gently used coats, jackets, hats, gloves, and blankets to Chapin Memorial Library, Myrtle Beach City Hall, the police department, and City Services building through November 30, 2012.

You can read more details in this WPDE story.

Update, December 14, 2011:  The distribution of coats for all ages, children through adults, is this Saturday, December 17, from 9 a.m. to noon at the National Guard Armory in Conway.

See below for a map and additional information.  Everyone is encouraged to come and get what they need.  For more information, check out the Coast RTA site here.

First report: The Grand Strand is known for our beautiful, warm weather, but, as any local will tell you, it really does get chilly in the winter.  Sadly, some local children don't have coats warm enough to protect them from the cold and you can help.

The Coast RTA is hosting the Coats for Kids campaign and they're accepting used coats, jackets, sweaters, gloves, and blankets.  Donations are accepted until December 2nd.  You can check out this WPDE story for drop-off locations. If you can help, please consider doing so.

Distribution is on December 17th between 9:00 a.m. and noon at the National Guard Armory at 1617 16th Avenue in Conway on a first-come basis. You can see a map of this location below.
