The Scott Firefighter Combat Challenge, a competition show on ESPN, is coming to Charleston for the first time ever on Friday, May 20th, and Saturday, May 21st.
What can you expect to endure during the challenge? How about the following:
- Climbing a five-story tower with over 40 pounds tied to your back
- Hoisting a super-heavy hose up that five-story tower
- Moving a 160-pound beam
- Pulling a live hose over 70 feet to blast a target
- Dragging a 165-pound dummy 100 feet
- ...all while wearing heavy firefighter gear
The challenge will be held at the Citadel Mall (2070 Sam Rittenberg Blvd.) on Friday from 4 to 8 p.m. and on Saturday from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. close to the King Street Grille entrace.
To participate in the event or for more info, call (843) 805-3030, email sportscouncil@explorecharleston.com, or visit firefighterchallenge.com.
