If you're interested in the weather and want to be able to help the National Weather Service do its job better, don't miss this opportunity: NWS Charleston and WCBD's Storm Team 2 are holding a Skywarn weather spotter class on Sunday, August 18, from 7-9 p.m. at the WCBD studios on Coleman Boulevard in Mount Pleasant.

When severe weather affects the area, weather spotters are called upon to provide information to the National Weather Service about the conditions on the ground.  Spotter reports of actual conditions are invaluable in helping the National Weather Service make better decisions about where and when to warn for severe weather.

Register for the class by calling Ashley Adams at (843) 884-2222. Learn more about the Skywarn program at the National Weather Service Charleston website.
