Come enjoy performances from Morimoto, The Opposite of a Train, Slow Runner, and Quentin Baxter, all while helping to support the New Music Collective.

Eye Level Art will host the fundraiser on Thursday, April 9, from 7 to 11 p.m. at 2143 Heriot Street.

Here’s a bit about the New Music Collective from an emailed press release:

The New Music Collective has been presenting concerts emphasizing young composers and performers since Spring of 2005. They put on at least ten events a year including presenting modern jazz concerts, putting on chamber concerts with premieres by local composers, presenting educational workshops on new music arts, promoting and supporting some of the many wonderful composers and performers in Charleston as well as bringing world class musicians to Charleston.

Tickets are $30 for one, and $50 for two. If you think this is steep, just think about what you are supporting. Also, this price includes beer, wine, and delicious foods from: Ted’s Butcherblock, Sermet’s Corner, City Lights Coffee, Evo Pizza, and more.

Tickets can be bought online or head over to 52.5 Records at 561 King Street.

You can get more details at their Facebook page.
