While Charleston County Council Districts 1, 2, 5, 8, and 9 are up for election this year, only seats for 8 and 9 are contested.

• District 8: Thomas Legare (R) and Anna B Johnson (D), Johns Island, Ravenel, Edisto.
• District 9: Joe Qualey (R) and Amy Fabri (D), Folly Beach, James Island, part of West Ashley, and Kiawah.
