The Preservation Society of Charleston is hosting a special tour of Charleston's only 20th century neighborhood currently listed on the National Register of Historic Places on Sunday, April 26th.

The self paced walking tour will give exclusive access to privately owned residences ranging from 800 sf freedman's cottage to Colonial Revival house situated on an acre of land.

Here's a bit about the tour from their Web site:

The houses on tour will range from an 800 square foot freedman's cottage built circa 1901 to a 1937 Colonial Revival house situated on nearly an acre. All of the houses on tour are privately owned and are open to the public exclusively for this fundraising event.  Trained volunteer guides will interpret the history, architecture, and decorative arts of each property.

The tour is from 2 to 5 p.m. Tickets are $20 and can be purchased online (at the bottom of the page) or by calling (843) 722-4630.
