Drinking and hunting is not recommended; but if you must, at least put the beer down when pulling trigger.

The S.C. Department of Natural Resources has announced license-free hunting for every state resident starting today, January 4th and tomorrow, Saturday, January 5, 2013.

In an effort to get more South Carolinians into hunting, the Department of Natural Resources is offering a couple of days of licenseless hunting, where those without the proper papers can go out and get their hunt on.

Here are the details straight from the SCDNR website:

Free hunting days are a chance for those unlicensed hunters to get into the field. All existing seasons, bag limits and methods of take still apply so check the 2012-2013 rules and regulations for more information.

Free hunting days allow all South Carolina residents to hunt without a state hunting license or other required permits, to include Wildlife Management Area (WMA) permit, or Migratory Waterfowl Permit (formerly State Duck Stamp). It is important to note that Free Hunting Days are offered by the State of South Carolina and do not waive any Federal requirements for a Federal Migratory Bird Hunting & Conservation Stamp (Federal Duck Stamp) to hunt migratory waterfowl. It does not open WMA's that are not previously open for hunting.
