Updates at the bottom.

Fireworks and freebies and futbol, oh my! You'll find them all at Blackbaud Stadium this Friday night when the Charleston Battery takes on the Charlotte Eagles in the final match of the regular season.

The first 500 children through the turnstiles will receive a free soccer ball courtesy of Piggly Wiggly, and immediately following the game, there will be a spectacular end-of-season fireworks display.

Fans can enjoy $2 drafts until kick-off in the Battery Beer Garden, and all military and first responders (police, firefighters, and EMT) receive complimentary admission courtesy of Force Protection.

Friday’s game is being televised nationally on FOX Soccer Channel; gates open at 6 p.m. with kick-off set for 8 p.m. Tickets are on sale now.

Update August 12: The game starts in a few short hours and the Battery has sent out an email point out that the "game will decide which team advances to the post-season."

So come on out or tune into FOX Soccer to watch the Battery (9-9-5) take on the Charlotte Eagles (9-8-6) to try and leap-frog the Eagles into fourth position and the playoffs.
